I love routines. My therapist once told me that I’m an entrepreneur at life, which basically means that the part of me that is always seeking to improve, hack, and streamline never shuts off. It’s not relegated to my business world. I apply it to everything. It shouldn’t surprise you at this point. I’ve shared my morning routine, my kids’ evening routine, and now it’s time to share my own evening routine!
Read MoreLast year, I dedicated an entire episode of Zimmerman Podcast to sharing how, every year, I set aside time to reflect on my past year with the future in mind. Today, as I’m midway through my annual planning month, I’m taking another chance to share why annual reflection is so important.
Read MoreMy secret to consistent business success and personal fulfillment? My annual planning month. Where I live, November is the month where everything slows down. The fields are plowed and empty, the sun sets early, and even with my active family, we find ourselves spending more time snuggling with fluffy blankets than hiking our favorite trails. Just like the outside world falls into the natural pattern of the seasons, so do we.
Read MoreI don’t know if there’s a parent alive who, at some point, didn’t dread bedtime. It’s a perfect storm. We’re usually too tired to be our best parenting selves when our kids start to fight bedtime, and it’s one thing, like mealtimes, that kids know will happen every day. At some point, I decided that if I could hack my own day by breaking it down into a set of smaller routines, then I could create a routine that made bedtime easier. We start the kid’s days with a wellness routine, and this is how we support them with their evening routines!

Read MoreIf there’s one thing that makes a difference between a well-lived day and a rushed day, it’s my morning routine. It’s taken me years to decide on a morning routine that’s right for me, to implement the morning routine, and finally, to crave it and enjoy it day after day.
Read MoreThis past week has included a lot of time with my face in front of the camera as I launched my course, The Business Behind the Blooms. And although I have been pretty bare-faced for most of quarantine, I felt pretty and put-together for my week in the spotlight. So today, I’m finally answering your questions and sharing my top five favorite Ulta beauty products!

Read MoreMy first job out of college was at a kitchen store. I was there to learn how to run a business, but my coworkers were retirees and high school students who mostly just wanted to earn some extra cash on the weekends. I decided early on that if I was really going to go all in with the kitchen store, I needed to know what I was selling.
