Welcome to day one of The Finish Strong Challenge! I’m so excited that you’ve decided to make the most of the last few days of the year (and the decade!). This week, we’re going to work together to define what’s been working in your life and what...well… maybe hasn’t so much.
Read MoreWhat do women’s cycles, floral workshops, and Frozen 2 have in common? They’re all topics of questions from this episode of the Zimmerman Podcast. We discussed the logistics and finances behind workshops, what happens when you have an unhappy bride who leaves a bad review, and ways to get stuff done on days you don’t feel motivated. Let’s get started!
Read MoreLast night my dad called me. During that conversation he asked, “What is something you’re proud of that you accomplished this year?”
Is he not the most incredible dad?! I told him I’m proud of prioritizing myself. I now wholeheartedly know that I’m best for myself, for others, for my business when I spend the first part of my day taking care of me. It centers me and I feel more peaceful.
Read MoreAs I dropped off Stella at school this morning she said, “Mommy, will you please come eat lunch with me today at school?”
This. This right here is the very reason I went into business for myself. Because I never want to ask anyone else permission for how I spend my time. I looked right at my daughter and said, “I’ll be here. See you in a few hours.”
Read MoreFor this episode I got to sit down with THE Sheri Salata. Sheri is the co creator of The Pillar Life, author of The Beautiful No, and former co-president of Harpo Studios and the Oprah Winfrey Network. She was also the executive producer of the The Oprah Winfrey Show. While her list of accolades is long, Sheri tends to define herself by the simple title that has most defined her life: storyteller.
During our conversation, I got to hear Sheri’s story first-hand, from her days with Oprah through the personal reckoning that became the inspiration for her book, and what her life looks like now. In her book and in this interview, Sheri gracefully grapples with issues like honoring your body, knowing when it’s time to explore your own passions, and bravely embracing a wholehearted life. By the end of the episode, I was so moved by Sheri’s wisdom that I kind of lost my cool and sounded like a blubbering idiot. It really was a dream-come-true experience getting to talk to her.

Read MoreOn this very day, five years ago…
We had just celebrated Stella’s first birthday a couple months before. I had just rebranded my business two weeks prior. I was feeling really good about the new year approaching and excited for 2015. But never in my wildest dreams did I anticipate the news I received on this day. “There’s your baby.” She said as she moved the wand across my belly. “And there’s the other baby.”
Read MoreIn this episode of the Zimmerman Podcast, I interviewed the amazing Jill Zarin. You might know her from her Real Housewives of New York fame, but she’s also a mom and a multi-passionate business-woman, with a handful of titles to her name, including author, speaker, Vice President of Jockey Hosiery, marketing consultant at her late husband’s company Zarin Fabric Warehouse, and owner of Jill Zarin rugs.
If you know me, you know I’m a total Real Housewives fan-- it’s 100% my guilty pleasure-- so I’m so excited I got to chat with Jill! I gave a warm Zimmerman welcome to THE Jill Zarin.

We had the best time, even though it turns out our kids didn't get on board with my plan for adjusting to the time change and woke up every morning at around four!

Even if you’ve followed me for years, if you’ve taken all my courses... even if you’ve come to freelance at my studio like some Bloomers, you probably don’t know much at all about my personal life.
You probably don’t know that from the time my twins were born and through the many months that followed, my husband survived life-threatening physical illness, our that we worked constantly to endure emotional strain, or that it's only been in recent months that we’ve really started to recover.

I typically keep my work and home life separate, but this week, I invited my husband Brian to join me on my monthly Questions with Rachel episode of Zimmerman Podcast.
We're talking all about our system for annual planning and getting on the same page as a family, how Brian and I first met, and what we think about the term 'breadwinner.'
