Las Vegas, Nevada Travel Guide

I know what you’re thinking… Las Vegas isn’t exactly known as THE premier kid-friendly destination, but we had the best time. We’d been in Arizona for over a month, and we’d had our fill of wide open spaces and nature galore. To be honest, we were ready for some big city sights! Here’s what you need to do if you’re in Las Vegas with kids— which I totally recommend.

Where to Find a Wintertime Beach Adventure in Arizona | Vlog Ep. 18

Even before we starting full-time traveling, my kids were always on the hunt for a beach day. Keep in mind we lived in rural Arkansas. Beaches were not easy to find. You might not think our luck would have been much better… in Arizona… in the dead of winter. That’s where Lake Powell comes in.

Page, Arizona Travel Guide

All it takes is a quick Google image search to figure out why Page, Arizona was on our list of must-see cities in Arizona! And really, no photo really does this place justice. When we visited, it was winter time, so we didn’t get to rent a boat and go on the lake, but if we come back for warmer weather sometime, we definitely will! When you visit Page, it isn’t for cool downtown shops or great restaurants, it’s for the natural beauty all around.

Because of that, we went to the grocery story, ate in the Airstream, or packed picnics for our stay in Page.

How to Make a Living While Living on the Road | Williams, Arizona | Vlog Ep. 16

Y’all. Arizona is a big place. Looking back now, it’s hard to believe that we could spend week after week in Arizona because there was still so much we didn’t see! It reminds me how lucky we are to explore such beautiful places full-time in this weird and wonderful season of life. If you watch the video below, you’ll see how breathtaking every view, hike, and highway is. Traveling like this has been a dream of mine for so long, and somehow actually living it is exceeding my expectations. So many times, I get asked the question “How can you afford to travel full time like this??”

Our First Time Boondocking: Sedona, Arizona | Vlog Ep. 15

Around the start of the new year, we made our way through Arizona, stopping in Flagstaff and Sedona. Both Brian and I agreed— we could be pretty happy here. With the beautiful, curated color palettes (fun fact, the Sedona McDonalds is the only one in the word that doesn’t have the famous golden arches. Instead, they’re turquoise), and terra cotta toned soil in every direction, it satisfied my aesthetic loving ways.

What is Boondocking, and What it Looks Like for Us

So there’s a full-time travel term called boondocking and here’s what it means… Boondocking is when you camp disconnected from water, sewage, electric, wifi, etc. on public land not specifically intended for camping purposes. You’re not at a campground, RV park, or driveway, and the only thing connecting your Airstream or RV to the earth is your wheels.

Petrified Forest National Park Travel Guide

Petrified Forest National Park is filled with— you guessed it— petrified wood in a rainbow of colors. You may remember, we’ve already visited a national park in Arizona, but it’s a big place and there’s plenty to see! Sometimes the scale of these parks can be deceiving. Most are so large that there’s no way you could see an entire park in a day, let alone all the parks in one state, so plan accordingly!

Christmas in Phoenix, Arizona! | Vlog Ep 13

One year ago, I don’t think we could have imagined a Covid Christmas spent on the road. But that’s exactly what this past Christmas looked like, with socially distanced Santa pictures, late night present-wrapping in our joint living room/dining room/kitchen, and a small-space friendly Christmas tree. I really couldn’t imagine a better Christmas.
