Page, Arizona Travel Guide

All it takes is a quick Google image search to figure out why Page, Arizona was on our list of must-see cities in Arizona!

And really, no photo really does this place justice.

When we visited, it was winter time, so we didn’t get to rent a boat and go on the lake, but if we come back for warmer weather sometime, we definitely will!

When you visit Page, it isn’t for cool downtown shops or great restaurants, it’s for the natural beauty all around.

Because of that, we went to the grocery story, ate in the Airstream, or packed picnics for our stay in Page.

Antelope Canyon

This wasn’t open when we were there due to Covid, but this has been on my bucket list for years and we will definitely come back and do it. Any photo you see of light reflecting off of striated creamsicle cavern walls, it’s probably Antelope Canyon!

CAN I GO TO ANTELOPE CANYON BY MYSELF?

No! Antelope Canyon is protected by the Navajo Parks and Recreation and only authorized tour companies can take visitors to the canyon. The main purpose of this restriction is to ensure to safety and prevent vandalism. The best way to see the canyon is by booking with an authorized tour company.

Vermilion Cliffs National Monument

We drove through this area, and we found the most beautiful river where we played all afternoon. I know it may seem like driving past stunning features like this may get old, but it really never does. We are so grateful to get to see such iconic and massive monuments like this, and getting to play in the river nearby in the dead of winter is an incredible bonus.

Amangiri

While we were driving, we tried to see this hotel resort I’ve had my eyes on for years, Amangiri. It is basically on the border of Utah and Arizona. I’ve seen pictures of this place, read about it in my Travel and Leisure magazine (yes, like an actual print magazine!), and it’s a bucket list stay for me. I was dying to see it. We attempted to drive to it, but it is so secluded, we weren’t able to catch a glimpse. The scenery leading up to it is stunning, and on our way back to our Airstream, we stumbled across Lone Rock Beach, which we never would have found had we not gone exploring to find Amangiri.

Lone Rock Beach

Lone Rock is a stunning lake that has a huge rock, like a lonely tooth, sticking up out of the beach. You can kayak in the lake, camp on the beach, and like us, spend even winter days enjoying the sand.

The beach is perfect for you if you want to feel like you’re camping right in the middle of nowhere, but you don’t want to be too remote.
