Our First Time Boondocking: Sedona, Arizona | Vlog Ep. 15

Around the start of the new year, we made our way through Arizona, stopping in Flagstaff and Sedona.

Both Brian and I agreed— we could be pretty happy here.

With the beautiful, curated color palettes (fun fact, the Sedona McDonald’s is the only one in the world that doesn’t have the famous golden arches. Instead, they’re turquoise), and terra cotta toned soil in every direction, it satisfied my aesthetic loving ways.

At home, New Year’s Eve is my favorite holiday. All year long, I look forward to gathering together all the people we love best for no real reason except being with each other and staying up late.

When we decided to full-time travel, I knew that our annual NYE party would be one of the things I’d miss the most.

And while I did miss it, there was also something sweet and simple about the five of us gathered around the booth in the Airstream, watching the ball drop on my laptop, and enjoying a fire and the beautiful open skies of Arizona while we Boondocked on public land.

I don’t know if I’ve ever started a year feeling so free.

We were glad to welcome all the new that 2021 had to offer— new cities, new adventures, and even a new tooth for Brian who knocked his out earlier that week.

It’s always something!
