Gratitude - Not An Easy Discipline, But Worth It

This whole year, the word at the top of my vision board has been gratitude. I haven’t shared much about this yet, but for the past five years or so, gratitude hadn’t come easily for me.

I was stiff-arming my way through life, pushing and striving, trying to carve out safety and security for my husband and three tiny children as we faced financial frustrations, small business growing pains, and severe, debilitating illness of both the mental and physical varieties.

I Treat My Book Just Like My Business

Did you catch last week's book announcement?

The official title (for now) of my memoir is Sleeping With a Stranger!

Right now, the book is with an editor undergoing the first round of edits. I can't wait to look at the notes in a few weeks. I'm hoping it'll feel like good haircut. You know when you wake up one morning and you realize you're totally overdue for a good trim, and when you leave the salon you feel totally refreshed and more like yourself?

Pop some bottles, because a new podcast has dropped! This week, I'm interviewing Tawnya Falkner with Le Grand Courtage. Tawnya is the brilliant mind and creative force behind the sparkling wine brand featured in Forbes, Today, and Martha Stewart.

Tawnya is such a thoughtful business owner, who shares about how she built her brand while focusing on the importance of annual planning. In both Tawnya’s and my industries, some of the most creative people we know fail in executing incredible ideas because they don't know how to plan well.

My Book, Sleeping With A Stranger

This past week, I let my friend read the first draft of my book.

Why is it harder to let people you know and love read the personal stuff? I'd much rather let strangers read it!

My friend Lindsey has been a best friend since I was eight. When I wrote the book, I wrote as if she was the only one reading it. That helped me not become totally overwhelmed by fear of judgement from my future readers. Lindsey is the least judgmental person I know.

How to Raise Humans, Not Just Parent Children

On today's podcast, we're officially going there...

PARENTING! I'm sharing my 10 best tips for how to parent children like the complex human beings they are, not just like tiny children!

Yupp. Now, it's always been my education philosophy that I'm not going to tell you WHAT TO DO, I'm just going to tell you what's worked for me. That's what I do for business and marketing, and that's what I do when it comes to parenting. This is NOT a how-to guide, it's a 'this is what I do' story!

Questions with Rachel: Getting Started, Client Care, Day-of Stress, and more...

Welcome to the first episode of Questions with Rachel!

Rachel is a Bloomer turned Zimmerman team-member, which means we first connected because she took my course the Business Behind the Blooms, and then she came on to the Zimmerman team in January of 2019.

Rachel has a foot in both worlds-- she’s a student and floral designer, mom and entrepreneur, but she also gets to see the inside of team Zimmerman and the inside of my brain as she helps me communicate with our audience and students.

Each month, we’ll have an episode of Zimmerman Podcast called “Questions with Rachel” where Rachel will ask me real questions that we get asked all the time and haven’t been able to answer in depth on Instagram or Facebook. She’s also going to throw some of her own questions in there, just to spice things up.

Boldly Asking for What You Want

Doug Budin is an actor known for his roles in Friends, Modern Family, and Two Broke Girls.

However, I first found Doug through Jeff Lewis’s show on Sirius XM and totally fell in love with his voice. His positivity and fun nature comes straight through the sound waves and into my van every time I listen.

That’s why I knew I had to dream a big dream and ask him to do the intro to our podcast. And because of your help, I connected with Doug, and now he’s the voice you hear every time you listen to the intro of a Zimmerman Podcast episode!
