Blush and Cream Textural Bouquet: Savannah Bridal Photoshoot

A few short years ago, I traveled to Savannah, Georgia to create and style Bailey’s bouquet for her bridal portraits. I love how Erin Wilson captured Bailey’s bouquet amongst the trees covered in Spanish Moss. They were the perfect romantic backdrop.

Nancy Meyers Inspired Beach Elopement

It’s the year of small weddings, and I can’t think of anything better than an oceanside Nancy Meyers inspired elopement. You all have been loving my Nancy Meyers home blog from a few weeks ago, and it got me thinking… What would a Nancy Meyers inspired elopement look like?

Old Meets New in Transitional Miami Reception with Lauren Kinsey

I’m back, with more intimate wedding inspiration! This time, I’m sharing unseen photos from a Miami photoshoot with one of my favorite photographers, Lauren Kinsey. These florals and fresh and romantic, with trailing greenery and just enough hints of mauve and burgundy to transition late Summer blooms into Fall and beyond. The bridal jumpsuit gives a modern, powerful twist to a reception that would otherwise lean heavily on old-world patinas and architecture. Scroll through for more inspiration on how to blend old and new in your own intimate reception. At the end, I’ve included similar products so you can easily recreate the look! Happy scrolling!

Intimate, Artisan Wedding Photoshoot Inspiration

In 2014, when I totally transformed my tired wedding rentals business into the floral design and wedding planning studio that got me named Top Wedding Planner in the South by Southern Living Magazine, I had no images that would attract the kind of clients I wanted to be working with. I’d done a lot of what I call “roundy-moundy” arrangements with five white Hydrangea and three sprigs of Salal. Not exactly the floral art I wanted to create. That’s why, when it came time to rebrand and create a new website and floral portfolio, I knew I needed some updated images to reflect my new direction. You’ve gotta share the work you want to create, right?

Demystifying Features

You might recognize this wedding from Martha Stewart Weddings. It was featured there earlier this year.

This was one of my favorite weddings to date. I flew out a bunch of Bloomers (people who have taken my course The Business Behind the Blooms) to help me with the setup.

The venue was overflowing with the most beautiful floral elements you could imagine. This arch installation, a staircase installation, low centerpieces, high centerpieces, soft seating arrangements and more.

Horse Bridal Portraits

In the past few years, I’ve loved seeing couples include their dogs in wedding celebrations. But, if there’s anything better than a dog wearing a floral collar, it’s a horse wearing a floral collar!

Sometimes, bride’s best friend is a different four-legged beast! We love how this bride honored her beautiful steed by including her horse in her bridal portraits.

One of My Most Special Weddings to Date

This past April, I designed florals for one of my most special weddings to date-- the wedding of my right hand lady Kellie to her husband Trae.

If you’ve followed me for any length of time, then you know how much I love and appreciate Kellie. She is the backbone of my business, and her wedding was such a special day.

I asked Kellie if she’d be willing to share a little of her story and what it’s like to be a Zimmerman bride. No one else knows the business from both sides like Kellie! Thankfully, she agreed. Keep reading to hear Kellie’s real wedding story.

She and Drew met each other in fifth grade and we had the best time planning every little detail of their wedding day. Ashton was a dream bride to work with because she really trusted me to create something unique and beautiful for her and Drew.
