Petrified Forest National Park— a place where you can wander through the woods and the desert at the same time and not see a single leaf! Sounds like the beginnings of a bad riddle, but that’s exactly what we found in our most recent adventure through the rainbow forest of petrified wood.

I’m so excited to share our first destination— Hot Springs, Arkansas! I’ve lived in Arkansas my entire life, most of it in Conway, which is just 90 miles from Hot Springs. Since we’re familiar with the area and it isn’t too far from home, Hot Springs was the perfect first location. We were doing everything for the first time, from hitching our Airstream to our truck to navigating some wide left turns with a 30 foot trailer, to stocking our kitchen. It was nice to know that if anything went really wrong, we were close to familiar places and people who could help.
Read MoreWelcome to your Hot Springs National Park travel guide. In the past, when I’ve shared about our travels, I’ve always gotten so many questions about how I plan a trip. For years, this question stumped me. Planning trips comes more easily to me than almost anything. At the end of a long day, you won’t find me scrolling through Instagram, but you can surely find me researching my way to a new travel destination. I believe that what comes naturally to us is usually a huge indicator of our God-given strengths and abilities. Each week, we’re getting to see new sights, experience new things, and create new memories as a family. I’m so glad we’re on this journey. The further we get into our adventures, the more I’ve been sharing about how we ended up here, like how we downsized from 3,000 sq. ft. to 200, what our purging process was like, and why we chose to embark on this Airstream journey in the first place. When we first officially decided we wanted to travel full-time in an airstream, we knew that this meant we either needed to see or rent our home.

Read MoreThe day we decided we were really going to pack up everything and full-time travel in an Airstream, I knew I had a big task ahead of me. I was used to planning trips. From weekend getaways to month-long backpacking trips across Europe, there is almost nothing that I’m better at than planning a trip. But figuring out how to plan and execute everything that came before the biggest trip yet would be a totally different beast. So here’s what we did before we hit the road.

I’ve been getting so many great questions on my Instagram about how we’re making full-time travel work for us, when we have three young kids and a thriving business. I’ve said it before, but travel has always been important to us. We definitely had a few years of staying close to home when the kids were babies and Brian was at his sickest, but by the time Stella was in Kindergarten, I had the itch to travel again.
