Developing a Fresh Look on a Repeat Venue

How many of you are designing weddings at the same venue over and over?

I try to look at a popular venue where hundreds of weddings have been designed with the exact same layout as a challenge. The very first thing I do is ask myself, "How can I lay this out in a way it's never been done before?"

Many guests coming to the wedding have been to multiple weddings in the exact venue, and they are all expecting the same layout. My goal is always for the guests to walk in and say, "I've never seen this place look like this before!"

For this particular wedding, my clients came to me with the venue's suggested layout of several 60" round tables scattered down the long, narrow space. It was the same thing that had been done there time and time again. I took one look and said to them, "What if we did this instead?”

This wedding (along with an image of what we ended up doing in the reception space) is featured over on Style Me Pretty. Check it out!
