Exuma, Bahamas

We successfully completed our busiest wedding season yet and after all the hard work, I decided a celebration was in order! With only ten days notice, I booked a trip to Exuma, Bahamas for our family of five and we fell in love with the island.A little bit of backstory:  I have always been obsessed with travel. It’s my greatest passion. This time last year I had 700 people subscribed to my newsletter list. Today I have 40,000. Earlier this year we surveyed our list and we learned many of you were interested in learning more about my personal life. I put a lot of thought into how I would share more personal stories with you.

When it comes to business, I’m an open book (as many of you know), but I’m much more private with my personal life.

When I booked this trip to Exuma, I thought to myself, “I really want to capture some of this vacation on video.”My daughter, Stella, is four and my twin boys, Perry and Zeke, will be turning three at the end of this month. They are finally at the age where they are somewhat (I use this word loosely) self-sufficient. In a way, Brian and I are just now coming up for air and can finally breathe a little.  During those first couple of years (the survival years as I like to call them) we didn't capture much. There are so many cute things they did that will only ever be in my memories. Our kids are growing up so fast and I want to make more of an effort to capture some of their tiny cuteness before it's too late.So after I booked our trip I wondered...

  • Would it be possible to fully enjoy a vacation while taking a little time during it to capture some of the memories being made?

  • Could I teach myself how to edit that footage into a little mini-movie for us to have and treasure?

  • And if I could somehow learn these new skills, could this be that personal thing I would share with my readers because it would be a blend of my two biggest passions:  family and travel?

The answers:  yes, yes, and YES!

I hope you enjoy this video of our first ever trip to the Bahamas.Thank you for watching!I’d LOVE to hear your thoughts in the comments below.
