How to Build a Collection of Timeless Rentals for Work and Home

Weddings are changing, y’all.

But you didn’t need me to tell you that, did you?

After you’ve given yourself time to adjust to the fact that your weddings are going to look very different in the coming months and years, let me be the first to point out that these new changes can be a very good thing.

A little while ago, I sold my huge 6,000 square foot wedding studio and moved my office home. There was a point in my life that this would have felt like complete and total defeat.

In reality, it’s led to beautiful things in my business and personal life.

A big lesson for me: business and life? They come in seasons. My time is better spent building what’s in front of me than trying to get back to something that’s in the past.

One of the simpler ways these big changes have brought beauty into my life is that now my absolute favorites from my old wedding rentals collection now live in my house!

Which got me to thinking… with this new season of micro-weddings and elopements, it’s the perfect time to build out a rental inventory that combines who you are and the unique touches your ideal brides are looking for.

Think— now that you’re creating centerpieces for four banquet tables instead of twenty-eight, you can be more thoughtful with your rental choices, leading to work that feels more aligned with what you want to be doing and is more personal to your clients.

And better yet, you can store these beauties on your own bookshelves and mantles.

I’ll show you what I mean…

Rustic candlesticks

My personal style is a blend of old-world patina, chalky whites and layers of paint and age, and sleek, modern, clean lines. These candlesticks perfectly blend those two aesthetics with their hand-turned look and neutral, whitewashed color scheme.

These are the perfect addition to a rental inventory! What head table overflowing with garland or compote arrangements wouldn’t look more inviting with these candlesticks?

Bonus! I can store them on my own mantle. They do double-duty as incredible rental items and home decor.

With simple weddings comes simple design. I love these branch-inspired planters. You can fill them with succulents or air plants or creative foam-free arrangements.

When they’re not sprucing up wedding tables, let them have a home on your coffee table and fill them with plants or votive candles!

Timeless carafe

This carafe is a perfect example of the more mid-century modern look I love. I imagine using it as a vase or simply for drinks at an intimate reception. I also imagine using it in my home office every morning to refill my diffuser.

Gorgeous and functional for work and home!

Simple glam flatware

With couples wanting to keep vendor lists as minimal as possible, it’s smart to expand your rental offerings beyond just florals.

This flatware works with countless different wedding themes and aesthetics. It also works perfectly for a fancy date night at home!

Tiny bowl

You can never have enough tiny bowls. They give interest and texture to a tablescape, whether you fill them with votives, herbs, or juicy figs.

They also double perfectly as jewelry holders for your bedside or vanity.

And that’s how you build a rental inventory that reflects who you are and gives unique, timeless details to your future couples.

It’s a win-win!
