A Shopping List to Getting Started with Palo Santo

When I started taking daily time to reflect and connect with myself, I became really into Palo Santo.

Palo Santo is basically wood that is used like incense. Palo Santo has traditionally been used as part of spiritual practices and represents healing and purification.

Whether you’re a crunchy person or not, finding something that signals to you that it’s time to reflect and spend time with yourself is so important, and smell is such a good way to do that. Smell and memory go hand-in-hand, and can help trigger to your brain that it’s self-care time.

Getting into Palo Santo can be overwhelming, so here’s a little shopping list to get you started.

Palo Santo Incense

The quality of this Palo Santo is incredible, and I love buying from a small business that really cares about your experience with their product. These have a very clean burn, and smell incredible.

Palo Santo Smudge Sticks

Palo Santo can come in a few forms, and one of my favorite ways to use it is as a smudge stick. These come in a cute branded bag and there are quite a few smudge sticks, so you get a lot of bang for your buck!

Gold Incense Holder

Once you light your incense, you need somewhere to put it! This simple incense holder is beautiful and functional, as there are three different size options. I typically place this holder on a platter so that my incense can burn as I read, reflect, and meditate.

Palo Santo Holder

Just like I have an incense holder, I have a Palo Santo stick holder! This is a hand-thrown holder with a wider gauge to hold the larger stick-version of Palo Santo.

Incense Platter

I have a vintage brass platter that I use to hold all my incense material, but this is a close match to what I have! If you’re going to use something everyday, it should be beautiful!

And if live flame isn’t for you, or Palo Santo seems a little too “woo” for you, I also love using essential oils.
