Pain and Perspective
This week was hard. It was really hard. It was one of those weeks where nothing went right, no matter how much I tried. It was one of those weeks where my team needed things from me and I was constantly behind schedule. I'm a person who admittedly likes to be in control, and there was a lot out of my control this week.
After a busy morning at the studio today, I stepped away from work and I had a two hour lunch with a friend. It was like— for the first time all week— things felt right. I felt understood. She felt understood. Is there anything better than feeling understood?! We laughed and we cried. It was both of our current struggles that, at that moment, connected us.
I know we've all heard it a thousand times, but it really is so true: you just never know what someone else is going through. You never know what they are dealing with at home. You never know what they are having to endure, what they are having to provide, the lack of sleep they are getting, etc.
But what I do know is this: I am grateful for this life.
I know that the pain from today only strengthens me for tomorrow. Perspective is everything. It was a bad week, but that doesn't mean it can't be a great weekend!
Here's hoping each of you have a wonderful weekend and spend it with those you love most.
