A Nancy Meyers Home

After spending so much time in our homes, I think we’re all itching for some change.

I was talking to a friend about this the other day, when she told me that after so many days staring at the same old scene, she was ready to breathe some new life into her home.

“I just want my home to look like the set of a Nancy Meyers film,” she told me.

If there’s one thing that all women can agree on, it’s that we love Nancy Meyers.

Always down for a project involving research, design, and some vintage-inspired home decor, I decided to see if I could crack the code on what makes her effortless designs so enviable.

And I think I may have figured it out…

Simplicity and Texture.

The way she plays with layers of texture and white-on-white simplicity is what keeps her interiors as timeless as Diane Keaton’s style.

And I know, I know, I have a particular affinity for neutrals, but after doing some research into how I could help my friend make her home more Meyers-inspired, I had to share my finds!

The Perfect Table.

Let’s be honest, every great interior has to start with a table, because food makes magic happen!

I love this table because it’s timeless, rustic, and simple, and would complement any aesthetic. The natural wood tones would pair perfectly with some other Nancy-inspired natural linens and varying shades of white.

A Cane Chair.

Cane is having a moment, y’all. You can’t turn your head without seeing new cane lamps, rattan chairs, and woven basket purses. And even though they’re trending right now, they’re about as timeless as timeless gets.

I love this cane chair with black details. The black grounds the natural color and gives some nice contrast.

A Timeless Mirror.

I think incorporating a worn metal is one of the best ways to modernize a space without losing the cozy, textural feel. This mirror looks like it’s been around for ages, but the sleek minimalism adds a whole new element!

An Heirloom Rug.

Wherever you buy a rug, you’re gonna have to spend some money. But a well-crafted rug can last more than a lifetime, and this jute rug is an instant heirloom.

The complex neutrals will brighten and texturize any room in your house, whether you want to invest in a big area rug or a smaller front-door mat. This rug is timeless.

A Beige Linen Chair to Share.

Okay, want to add some instant Nancy Meyers to your room? You’ve got to have linen furniture. Signature N.M..

This beige linen chair-and-a-half is the perfect place to fall asleep watching Something’s Gotta Give.

And it’s big enough to share!

It also swivels, so you can easily adjust your position.

Okay, I’ll be right back, I’m ready for a nap!

A Woven Basket.

Finally, you need a woven basket to throw your favorite blanket.

If you want to incorporate some cane into your home and aren’t ready to take the plunge on something big, go for this basket!

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from being a mom, it’s that you can never have too many baskets. Whether you’re hiding toys, storing off-season sweatshirts, or stuffing throw-pillows, baskets are the answer to nearly every storage dilemma.

And this one has charm and cane galore.

Alright, I think I’m ready to turn my friend’s home into a Nancy Meyers set! How about you?
