The Perfect Fall Trip to Springdale, Arkansas without Seeing Crystal Bridges
In the Fall of 2018, Stella started kindergarten.
With her in school everyday, we could no longer just pick up and travel whenever we wanted. So we decided to get creative.
We started taking quick weekend trips with all the kids, fitting in all the best activities we could in two short weekend days. You can read more about that process here.
One of our favorite trips was to Springdale, Arkansas.
When we’re traveling domestically, there’s something special about staying in a unique hotel or bed and breakfast. We loved staying at the Inn at the Mill. We wouldn’t have found a place like this anywhere else!
We also ate at our fair share off family-owned restaurants and holes-in-the-wall, like Susan’s and this incredible taqueria.
We also scheduled a fun activity at KYYA, where the kids got to make their own chocolate! It’s totally worth eating, even if you don’t have the time to go make any.
On Saturday, we went to one of the best pumpkin patches I’ve ever been to. There were so many activities! We spent most of the day here letting the kids run around and play. I’m pretty sure they’d have been happy to come back the next day.
Especially in Fall, one of the best things to do is to take a train ride from Springdale to Van Buren. I’d grown up hearing about the beautiful ride, and when we took the kids on Sunday, the last day of our trip, it definitely didn’t disappoint! Even though it isn’t running now (December of 2020), when it starts back up, this is a must-see activity! You can book a ride here.
Then it was back home to get ready for Monday school. It was the perfect weekend getaway right in Arkansas!
