How to Do a Weekend in Toronto with Kids
If you know me, you know I work to travel.
Back in July of 2018, we took our kids and traveled around Canada for two weeks. One of our stops was Toronto and we packed a ton into roughly 48 short hours.
I know traveling with kids can be overwhelming sometimes, so I’m sharing what we did with three young kids during our time in Toronto.
When I’m not on trips, I’m planning them! So you can bet that a lot of thought and planning went into this little stop on our Canadian trip.

It’s so special to have these memories, and especially to have them on video! I love looking back and hearing their sweet little voices, remembering how they said certain words, and pushing them in our beloved stroller.
I’m still convinced that we were only ever able to travel because of this stroller.
We stayed in the Hilton in downtown Toronto. We loved the location, and they had a pool! Happy kids, happy parents.
Take my word for it: when it comes to kids, food markets are your best friends. You don’t have to worry about your kids running rampant through a restaurant or making reservations around bedtimes. With a food market, everyone can get something they want to eat, and no reservations are necessary. We loved this indoor food market: St. Lawrence Market
The following day, we did a little outdoor food crawl at Kensington Market and again, stuffed our faces and avoided meltdowns. Double win!
On our last day, we took a ferry ride to Centre Island and had the best time exploring!
One of my favorite things we did was renting a quadricycle. It’s not easy fitting a family of five on one cycle, but everyone got some shade, and Brian and I got to work off our food market meals!
While on Centre Island, we got to go to the amusement park there, and even found a more typical park— a great playground!
We rounded out the weekend by cooling off and swimming at the beach.
Toronto is truly a magical city with so much to offer!
